Flame Off 2005

I was invited to the flame off in Early 2005, and I knew I had some carpel tunnel surguy to schedule. I was able to get it scheduled for March 8th which was a month before the contest to recouperate. Luckily this recovery went much easier than the right hand I had done the previous year.

I was looking for a new style to do at the Flame off, something really new that incorporated several advanced techniques. I had previously been working on the Alphabet project and had some spinn off I deas I was working on. Starting with a vortex that had a hole in the end gave me the idea to try an Idea I had for a marble based on a tube I had tried several years ago, but did not have the skill to execute. Next I tried several tube like this where the insode was decorated as well as the outside

After a few weeks of playing around I came up with a twisted tube I dubbed Mobius, Here are some. I dropped the foil idea to add tornadoes of UV glass on the inside so not only should they be interesting from ever angle they should be interesting in several forms of light. This is just like the one I made for the flame off.

No, I did not win, but all the glass made in the competition will be auctioned off for a cancer charity. Good Luck
